A few highlights from last week

I actually posted this story on the My Father's World Board last week, but I wanted to share pictures. So, here we go...

We finally decided to make the world cake from week #2 in ECC. :( I let Karissa & Kyla do it completely on their own and they did such a great job working as a team. When they were finished, they proudly called me downstairs to show me their masterpiece. :) They did such a great job with using fondant to cut out the shapes of all the countries, but I noticed that they didn't seem to be in the right places. Kaylee caught on to that & asked them if they were in the right places and they said, "No. Mom didn't tell us that they had to go in any specific order on the cake, so we just cut them out in the right shapes and slapped them onto the cake." :( I guess I thought they would know that was kind of the point. :) So, they kind of missed the point. They had fun doing it, though and felt like they were on Ace of Cakes on Food Network. :) At least the shapes were accurate. :)

Khloe is finishing up the dinosaur unit in K. She had fun with that this past week. We made Dinosaur cookies and learned all about dinosaurs. :) Khloe also started using Singapore Math and really enjoyed it.

Kaylee is really enjoying MFW High School. I truly LOVE the discussions we have each week out of "Taking the Old Testament Challenge." She is really enjoying this curriculum and we feel that it has truly been a blessing to her and also to us as we get to dig into the Bible together more. Kaylee also worked on a science experiment. I will have her write her high school update from last week soon. :)
