I snapped these as we were getting ready to leave to go to my parents house for the party. :)
The lighting wasn't very good on this one, but I LOVE her sweet smile. :)
The Grandmas on the tractor! :)

Our little sweetie:
Kaylee was trying to get Katie to touch the grass. She wanted NOTHING to do with that. :) It really upset her. She didn't like the feeling of it on her little toes. :)
Here she is giving Kaylee a BIG hug to try to get her to rescue her from the green stuff. :)
Karissa made this cake for Katie. It looked so good. It had chocolate mousse filling and a chocolate cream cheese frosting. The cake was a white cake from Katie's Great-Grandma's old cookbook. I wish I could have tried it, but it wasn't Gluten-Free. :(
Katie wasn't really happy about sitting in her new High Chair. :( She also wasn't too sure about this immense slab of cake sitting in front of her. :)
This picture cracks me up. She sat there staring at all of us with this expression for quite some time. I wish I knew what she was thinking. :)
Here's that serious look again. :)
Getting some help from Big Sister, Karly!!! :)
Look at that sweet face. :)
This is my all time favorite picture from the day! :) She had just took a clump of cake and leaned over and dropped it on the floor, then she gave us that cute, mischievous, little grin. :)
Sorry for all these cake photos. I'm sure you are hoping there aren't more. :( I am SO SORRY to do this to you, but I just have a few more favorites. Can you believe this is only a very small fraction of them? :)
Here she is doing the sign for "All Done." :)
Daddyo:
Katie with all of her Grandparents:
Here is Katie opening her presents. :) I love the ones with the card. Isn't it funny how you can give them a present at this age and they seem more excited over the box, the wrapping paper, or the cards? :) Katie hugged the card and carried it around on her head. :) She had fun playing with it in the funniest and most creative ways. :) It cracked me up. :)
Here she is rocking and snuggling the card: :)
Now the card has become a hat. :)
Did I ever tell you how much I love this precious, little miracle??? :)
If you made it all the way to the bottom, you are full of patience. :) Thank you so much for letting me share Katie's Birthday pictures with you. :)
Bye!!! :)

she looks like she had a great time!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! We, too, went to my paernts house to celebrate Marowynn's 1st birthday with both sets of grandparents. Unlike you, I didn't manage to get that many pictures of ANYTHING! I was too busy chasing little ones. I left the photo taking to my husband who thinks that shots from straight overhead ar GREAT! You can't even see anyone's face. I will have to repent for some of the things that i thought about saying to him. ;O) Thankfully, her ACTUAL birthday is tomorrow. I HOPE to take 1000 pictures of her. I will be sure to post them. Katie, may God bless you with good health, and lots of HAPPY times in this next year. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED all the photos... isn't it great that with digital you can have 100 pics of that one cake moment!! My oldest (8) was afraid of the grass. We would try to stand her up to walk on it barefoot and she would hold her feet up. I had forgotten about it. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. ;) And at our house we have the "S" thing going on with our girls... good to see we are not the only ones. People think it is crazy, but we don't care. I'm Shannon and we have Savannah, Sierra, Sahara. My husband is Cody and son, Caden... so the boys have the "C" thing.... not all of it was intentional on our part. I enjoyed your many many pics.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through Tara's site. Love all the beautiful pics! We have a "Kya Rose." She has beautiful blue eyes just like your Kyla. Blessings fellow mommy!
ReplyDeleteI miss going to the girls' birthday parties and your mom's great ice cream cakes. Tell your parents hi for me and that we miss them a lot.
